The 23rd Bucheon International Animation Festival will be held at the Pusan Visual Arts Center in South Korea from November 28 to December 2. Watanabe Ayumu’s Fortune Favors Lady Nikuko – Japan | 2021 – 96 minutes
“Fortune Favors Lady Nikuko” is a joyful and uplifting comedy drama about an out-of-the-ordinary mother-and-daughter duo who enjoy their lives to the fullest. Mother Nikuko, who is easygoing, happy, enthusiastic, and always ready to eat anything wonderful, has a fondness for the evil people. “Ordinary is greatest of all!” she exclaims cheerfully. Nikuko’s outgoing personality embarrasses Kikuko, her 11-year-old daughter on the cusp of adolescence. Yuasa Masaaki’s Inu-oh – Japan, China | 2021 – 98 minutes
